The colors at dawn were spectacular! glimmering, cool, and mysterious. I tried to capture the serene colors of the ocean, that seemed to be a thousand feet deep. The shadows of the trees on the hill are from the afternoon sun, I added them to amplify the depth and tranquility of the ocean.
While painting, I am looking for the border between abstraction and reality. It is like solving a puzzle. When I work in the nature, I get clues from it. I take the morning colors and the shadows from the evening sun and combine them in an image that includes various element from different times of the day.
